Varieties of native plum seed and native plum hybrids and some exotics. $8 for 16 seeds.

American Plum — Prunus americana. American plums are sweet with a sour aftertaste in the skin. Fruits are ping pong ball sized, purple skin / peach colored flesh, with a yeast bloom on the skin. Selected seed from my productive trees on farm, and other sources. Tom’s favorite is a large fruited, tasty selection from Westmoreland county, PA, from forager Tom Patterson.

Goose Plum — Prunus munsoniana. Goose plums are sweet, generally without the sour aftertaste in the skin of American plums. Fruits are ping pong ball sized, red skin / peach colored flesh, without a yeast bloom and with tiny yellow speckles on the skin. Leaves are slightly narrower than American. Selected seed from my productive trees on farm.

Beach Plum — Prunus maritima. Beach Plums are smaller than American, dark blue / purple, and very sweet. Some fruits may be red or yellow. Selected seed from various sources.

Hybrid Plum — Prunus x. Grown from “Prunus ussuriensis” grown out from seed sourced from Oikos Tree Crops. While not straight species P. ussuriensis, the trees are nice quality hybrid plums reminiscent of American plum in size, color, and habit, but with more of a European plum taste and texture. No yeast bloom of the skin, which is a deep red color.
